Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on this site. They let us keep you signed in, remember your preferences, process payments, and understand how Showstream is used so we can improve it. This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies such as local storage and pixels — collectively referred to as “cookies” in this policy. In this Policy, when we say “cookies” we mean cookies and similar technologies, unless we say otherwise.
2. The categories of cookies we use
We group cookies by what they do, so you can decide which ones you are happy with. Strictly necessary cookies always run because the platform cannot function without them. Analytics and marketing cookies only run if you opt in.
- Strictly necessary. These cookies are required for authentication, session management, payments, and security. They cannot be disabled because the platform would stop working without them — but they are disclosed in full in section 4 below.
- Analytics and performance. These cookies help us understand how the platform is used so we can improve performance and reliability. Data is aggregated and never sold. We will only use these where you have given consent or where they are otherwise permitted by law.
- Marketing. Used to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and to show relevant content. Disabled by default. If we use these, we will seek your consent first where the law requires.
3. Managing your cookie preferences
- When you first visit the site from a UK or EU location, you will see a cookie banner that lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or choose category by category. You can change your choices at any time using the button below, or by clearing cookies via your browser settings to be prompted again.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we automatically reject all optional cookies and do not show the consent banner. Your decision is logged so we can demonstrate compliance with applicable law.
- You can also manage cookies directly through your browser. Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, delete them, and set rules for accepting or rejecting them. Useful guides are available for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. Blocking or deleting cookies may stop parts of the site from working properly.
- Per-domain preferences. Your cookie preferences apply only to the domain on which you set them. If you visit a creator’s site on a different domain, you will be asked for consent again — each creator is the data controller for their own domain.
4. The cookies we use
This list is updated as our use of cookies changes. The cookie banner shown on the site is always the live source of truth for what is currently active.
4.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These keep you signed in, manage your subscription, route requests, protect against fraud, and remember your cookie preferences. They cannot be disabled.

4.2 Analytics cookies (opt-in)

| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors and stores aggregated usage data. | Up to 2 years | Third-party |

4.4 Cookies set by the Creator
If the Creator integrates additional third-party tools into their Creator Site (for example, an embedded social widget), those tools may set their own cookies. The Creator is responsible for any such cookies, and our Creator Terms require the Creator to publish their own privacy and (where applicable) cookie notice on the site disclosing any such tools. Where you encounter cookies set by the Creator that are not listed here, look at the Creator’s own notice on the site.
5. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties we use to deliver core functionality (Stripe, Chargebee, Supabase) or — only with your consent — analytics and marketing tools. Their own privacy policies govern how they process the data they collect.
6. How long cookies stay on your device
Cookies are either session cookies (which are deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which stay on your device until they expire or you delete them). Where a cookie above shows a lifetime such as “1 year”, that is the maximum period the cookie is set to last unless you delete it sooner. Some cookies may renew when you visit again.
7. Changes to this Cookie Policy
- We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use, the law, or our practices. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when we last revised it. The cookie banner shown on the site is always the live source of truth for what cookies are currently active.
